This course provides basic information and techniques on travel skills for the purpose of assisting an individual with low vision.
The course is broken into two lectures: The first is Guiding Techniques and the second is Room Familiarization. The Guiding Techniques lecture provides introductory material and is a pre-requisite to the second lecture on Room Familiarization. Students are presented the theory as well as practical applications using real-world environments. The course uses demonstration as well as computer generated virtual reality to enhance learning of the various concepts.
